FC Development Corp. (FCDC) is a strategic brand management, development, and growth partner dedicated to scaling and safeguarding iconic, farmer-led initiatives in American agriculture. With deep expertise in finance, energy, technology, marketing, and multi-million-dollar business building, our leadership team drives innovation, secures partnerships, and unlocks new revenue streams—all while keeping family farms at the center of every decision.

We proudly serve as the exclusive expansion arm for The Farmer’s Cow®, a pioneering family farming cooperative. Founded in 2003 by six family-owned dairy farms in Connecticut, The Farmer’s Cow® was born from a shared vision: to connect consumers directly with fresh, responsibly produced dairy, eggs, and more—preserving farmland, supporting local economies, and putting a human face on New England agriculture.

Since partnering closely with the cooperative, FCDC has worked hand-in-hand with these dedicated farmers to evolve their proven model into a scalable, diversified, resilient ecosystem. Together, we champion three high-growth pillars—clean energy through anaerobic digesters on partner farms, fast-casual dining via The Farmer’s Cow® Calfé, and expanded retail distribution—that deliver recurring value back to the farms while advancing rural sustainability and consumer trust.

Viability is at the core of The Farmer’s Cow brand, with a goal of connecting the community to the land by supporting local farmers. The cooperative’s farms are pioneers in responsible agriculture, implementing innovative methods to reduce environmental impact while maintaining the highest quality standards.

In partnership with the State of Connecticut, The Farmer’s Cow has helped secure over 12,000 acres of farmland, ensuring that these vital landscapes remain protected for future generations.

Through clean energy initiatives, the cooperative is leading the way in renewable energy development, with projects already operational on two farms. As a strategic partner, FC Development Corp. is committed to expanding these efforts, helping farms remain financially sustainable while reducing their carbon footprint.

Retail & Distribution

Since 2005, The Farmer’s Cow® milk has been on shelves in major Northeast chains including Stop & Shop, Big Y, and Whole Foods, along with egg distribution across nine states. The brand is expanding with two to three new products into value-added lines through artisan partnerships, licensing, and controlled distribution in 2026, with two to three additional products projected for 2027.

Fast-Casual Dining

Farms convert farm waste into renewable electricity through anaerobic digesters. Two operational projects already generate surplus power sold to utility companies and municipalities, with a third in planning and a scalable three-track model—greenfield builds, licensing existing digesters, and shared manure-hauling participation—propelled by the Farming Clean Energy® trademark.

As the dedicated community engagement and support entity of FCDC, The Farmer's Community delivers hands-on programs, events, and resources that bring people closer to the source of their food and our beloved farmers:

  • Educational programs and farm tours that teach students, families, and community groups about responsible farming, animal care, environmental stewardship, and the role of small farms in food security.
  • Community events and festivals (in collaboration with partners like Eversource and local organizations) that celebrate local agriculture, feature farm-fresh products, and build lasting relationships.
  • School and youth outreach, including partnerships like our educational program with Windham Public Schools, to instill appreciation for farming and inspire future stewards of the land.
  • Support for local needs, channeling resources to address food insecurity, promote rural sustainability, and provide direct benefits to farming communities.
