Rooted in Resilience: What Anthropic’s AI Report Reveals About the Future of The Farmer’s Cow®

March 17, 2026

We have been reflecting quite a bit lately on what truly sets FC Development Corp. and The Farmer’s Cow® apart as we navigate a world reshaped by rapid technological change—and a timely new report from Anthropic has only deepened our conviction.

On March 5, 2026, Anthropic released its research paper, “Labor Market Impacts of AI: A New Measure and Early Evidence.” Drawing on both theoretical AI capabilities and millions of real-world interactions with their Claude model, the study identifies agriculture as one of the sectors least exposed to current automation. Physical farm work—operating machinery, harvesting, livestock management, and the countless hands-on decisions that define daily life on a family farm—registers a theoretical AI coverage score of just 15.7%, with observed AI exposure in most agricultural roles remaining near zero.

This data reveals a meaningful divide in today’s economy. While AI is transforming white-collar and knowledge-based fields such as programming, finance, legal services, and administration, the physical, outdoor, and adaptive nature of agriculture keeps it firmly in the human domain. Approximately one-third of the U.S. workforce currently shows zero observed AI exposure, and roles like agricultural workers, ranchers, and farm laborers rank among those least affected.

For us at FC Development Corp., the brand management and expansion partner for The Farmer’s Cow®—a cooperative founded in 2003 by six Connecticut family dairy farms—these findings affirm the enduring strategic value of our farmer-first approach. We keep our core operations rooted in skilled human labor on family-owned farms, which naturally insulates us from the earliest waves of AI disruption. At the same time, we actively utilize technology advancements to enhance our labor and property operations, never to replace the human judgment and care that remain irreplaceable.

Through our retail dairy products, The Farmer’s Cow® Calfé fast-casual locations, and clean energy initiatives, we operate at the thoughtful intersection of traditional agriculture and modern growth verticals in premium retail, experiential dining, and rural sustainability. Our farmers and teams have always been at the heart of everything we do. This Anthropic report validates the lasting importance of hands-on agricultural expertise and the irreplaceable human connection to the land. While technology drives meaningful efficiency upgrades, the physical realities of caring for animals, stewardship of the soil, and day-to-day management continue to depend on dedicated people—and it is precisely that personal touch that consumers long for on the other end.

As Thomas Jefferson wisely observed, “Agriculture is the most healthful, most useful, and most noble employment of man.” In an era of AI, that nobility endures. AI will undoubtedly transform how work gets done in many sectors, yet it also reminds us of the vital role family farmers play in feeding our nation and preserving rural heritage. The Farmer’s Cow® is built squarely on that foundation: real farms, real people, and real relationships. This report from Anthropic reaffirms that our approach is not only resilient but increasingly valuable in a world that craves authenticity and rural sustainability amid fast-paced technological change.

As private markets mature and investors seek diversified, mission-driven opportunities with durable competitive advantages, we believe FC Development Corp. and The Farmer’s Cow® stand out as a compelling example. We combine timeless human expertise with scalable opportunities across premium retail, fast-casual dining, and clean energy—all while supporting family farms and contributing to a more secure, sustainable community around them.

To our community of supporters, partners, fellow farmers, and forward-thinking investors: we are grateful to walk this path together. Your belief in authentic agriculture and thoughtful innovation fuels everything we do. We welcome your thoughts on how tradition and technology can continue to strengthen one another, and we look forward to sharing more as we advance our shared vision.
